Fire Drill

Novalee recently had a section in school focused on fire safety.

It must have roused her curiosity a little.

We moved in November.

She was the one to point out that there aren't smoke detectors in her room and instigated the discussion on where our meeting point will be if there is a fire.

Fast forward to last week.

Novalee asked if she could go bike outside.  (Yay for sidewalks!)

After I told her that was fine she ran into the garage to get her helmet.

Well a few minutes later, longer than it should have taken now that I think about it, she came back out and causally put on her helmet and started putting on her shoes.

Then just as casually as she put on her helmet she said, "Mom, while I was in the garage I "accidentally" set off the fire extinguisher."

!!!WHAT!!!

Accidentally?  Yeah right!

So I go to investigate, thinking I might need to clean up a little.

So I open the door to the garage and a big white cloud of dust pours into the laundry room.

At this point minutes have passed since Novalee had been in the garage.

So this must have not just been a little squeeze of the trigger.

After the cloud settled this is what met my eyes.

(This Canopy is normally dark green.)

Dust over everything!

Seriously!

(Only a few things weren't touched by Novalee's "curiosity." )

It's funny now but boy it wasn't then.

I'm pretty sure this is going to go down as one of those stories I will tell all of her friends, boyfriends, her future husband and children if they ever ask (or I just feel like sharing) how she was during her childhood.

After cleaning it up (okay I supervised her cleaning it up) I've earned it.  :)

Trained!

This one.

In what way?

This way.

No more diapers!  Yay!

Be careful though she might say to you and I quote, "I shake my bum at you!"  :)

(Here's to hoping  for no regressions.)

Steps

Kinsley took 8 steps in a row just now without holding onto anything!

Almost 9 and a half months old.
