Easter Sunday

We all had a lovely Easter this year except perhaps Sadie. She decided the day before to get sick.

We did manage to color eggs the night before.

What Sadie was sick with we aren't sure but she did have a fever that at times was at 103.5 degrees. Which of course made Mommy and Daddy scared.

We eventually got it down to 101 degrees but were still nervous and tried to have her sleep in our room so we could keep an eye on her which meant no one slept.

Then of course the Easter bunny had to get up early to hide eggs for the kids (thank goodness I'm not the Easter bunny). Church is at 9am so we woke up the kids just before 7am.

It was so AWESOME to be the ones waking them up instead of the other way around. Mwahahaha! They both requested that we turn out their lights and let them sleep until we repeated several times that it was Easter and they should go see what the bunny brought them. :)

The kids all got a few fun things from the Easter bunny.

Then we had breakfast. Which I planned everything else out for the day but totally forgot about breakfast. While filming our Easter morning I turn the camera to Wesley who happened to ask, "Did you have something special planned for breakfast." Oops! And that is where the filming stops because I was just thinking cereal. :)

But I made some french toast and eggs. Everyone ate and while I was upstairs getting ready, I heard Wesley tell Sadie it was okay. So I went downstairs to investigate. Sadie had thrown up her breakfast and before Wesley could get a chance to do more than move her plate she fell asleep. Poor thing.

Well that pretty much made it clear that she wasn't fit for church. I was pretty sure I would be spending another Easter in the ER (two years ago Jared sliced his thumb on a can and had to get stitches). But I had already agreed to sub for Relief Society that day and didn't think I should back out at the last minute. So Wes and I did a switch halfway through church so I could stay home with Sadie during the first little bit and then go teach. During which time Sadie's temperature went down again to the low 100s.

After church we went up to my dad's house.

This is him.

He really wanted a picture with his pregnant daughter.

I never really feel huge until I see pictures...or look in a mirror...or hear ladies at the park trying to decide how close I am to having the baby and giggling to themselves about how funny I look. :)

Anyways back to Easter. Here are some more photos.

And for the grand finale! I grew something from a seed and it survived! I'm not a green thumb. I haven't really had much practice but I do recall killing all my cacti growing up AND I bought a lot! I mean what does that say about someone when they can't keep a cactus alive. :)

But look at this!

It bloomed on Easter, which of course makes the entire story A LOT cooler. ;)

Yay Me!

Oh and I should add that Sadie is doing much better.

Growing Pains

Sadie's been struggling with seeing all her baby things being taken out but not being taken out for her use.

She has insisted several times that she should be able to be in her old things and she's not very adamant about things. :)

She doesn't really fit into her Pack N Play anymore.

(See all those diapers underneath the Pack N Play. They are Pampers diapers. Ohhhh how I love how they smell!)

Pretend yawn.

Here she is holding the doggies that attach to the Pack N Play.

It should be interesting when there is a red, crying baby using all her old things. :)

Novalee's Art Work

I just wanted to post some of Novalee's most recent artwork. Some of this is art work from school, so of it is stuff she has drawn and some of it is her coloring the things I drew for her. I love how her use of color!

Just for the record, I have a great Novalee. :)

Special Delivery

The other day the doorbell rang.

When I opened it I was greeted by the UPS driver with a ginormous box.

Inside were these very lovely gifts for baby Kinsley.

Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Crockett!

No doubt they will get used. :)

Novalee was so cute! She said, "They are SO nice!" when she saw what was in the box. Later she turned the box into a house for herself.

She slept in it last night. :)

Wes said that it scared him when he went into the girls' room to put Sadie down and then when he turned around he saw, unexpectedly, legs shooting out of the box. Haha!

Two More Blankets for Kinsley

I just finished a blanket I've been working on for about two months now for baby Kinsley. I just haven't been super motivated to make it for many reasons.

First the colors I LOVED at the store didn't look very great to me when I started piecing the blanket.

Then the squares weren't coming out exactly square OR identical....

And then finally the back piece I picked looked too boyish for it, even though I picked it out intentionally because it didn't look super girly.

But it's done.

I LOVE it!

And I think it is perfect for a little Spring baby!

I got the block pattern from here.

I don't really have a fancy machine(who am I kidding, it's super basic) and so the name was sewn with the button stitch. Not perfect but I think it's good enough for government work. :)

Blanket number two was made by my sister, Adrianna.

I can't tell if she really loves me a lot or if she really loves being an aunt. :)

Either way, she made this blanket for Kinsley WHILE watching Sadie for me.

She kind of rocks!

All I know is that I love elephants and this is the super cutest elephant print ever!
Plus there are little tags in the corner for a potential thumb sucker. :)

Plus she used this chenille fabric for the backing. So thank you Adrianna, I'm sure Kinsley will love it. :)
Can you see her name on it?

Here it is closer up. My sister has a sweet sewing machine!

Sadie was more than happy to pose in front of the blanket.

And no, she has no idea she's having a baby sister sometime soon. :) (We try to explain it to her but she just thinks all the new things are for her, mostly the pack N play and the swing.) I'm sure she is going to hate sharing Mommy for a while. :)

Pregnant with baby Kinsley 33 weeks 3 days.

Pregnant with Sadie at 33 weeks.

That's it so far. Kind of fun. I've really been enjoying being pregnant this time.

Not a Mega Millions Winner But STILL a Winner!

Last year I wrote about how I never win anything. Unless it was a sports event or board game.

But then a miracle happened and I won SEVERAL free donuts at Albertsons!

WELL....GUESS WHAT!?!

I guess my luck is still hanging around because I won something last night!

Last night I went to "Ladies Night" at Deseret Bookstore in Lake Oswego with my friend Michelle.

We didn't get there in time for a free picture that they were giving out. Darn it. :)

But they were doing a drawing for various items so we both entered but I did question why I even spent the time squatting down (overly pregnant) next to the table filling out the information all while keeping my 18 (almost 19) month old nearby.

Throughout the time there they drew peoples names.

I told Michelle that I never win anything. We both agreed that we didn't win things and laughed.

At one point they were drawing names and about 4 people had already left the store so they couldn't claim the prize.

Then they called my name! I was so excited and I didn't even know what I was winning! Haha!

But the prize was actually something great for me.

Ta Da!

I LOVE cooking in my crock pot AND this will be great when the baby comes and I don't really have tons of time to prepare dinners.

The lady that handed me the prize was right when she said, "This must have just been meant for you."

Oh Happy Dance!
