Disneyland is "Magical!"

Tonight Wes and I were talking about various jobs that people work at or choose to work at because they enjoy them.   We were talking about fast food and other such jobs.  Certain people enjoy those kinds of jobs and are happy doing them.

Somehow we got onto the subject of working at Disneyland.  I was saying I know someone that loves working there.  He was saying that a few years ago he noticed that people that work there have a "class of" or "working at Disneyland since" badge.  He said that most badges showed only a few years of being employed at Disneyland but there sometimes would be ones that were more like 20 years.

Anywho, at about that point I got disinterested and stopped listening OR what he said triggered some other thought into my mind.  Either way I was no longer giving him my full attention.

Then when I thought the subject had changed he said, "The only thing I would worry about with working at Disneyland is that working there might ruin the magic of Disneyland."

Well that got my attention, "What! The magic? Are you serious?"

To which he insisted over and over again that he felt that Disneyland was a magical place.  Magical?  Really?

You know that feeling when someone you think you've got pegged totally throws you for a loop.  It's kind of surprisingly funny and also so unnerving?  I couldn't stop saying between laughing, "No, you're kidding.  You're kidding right?"

To which he would insist that he seriously wasn't kidding.  He was so firm about it.

 DISNEYLAND IS MAGICAL!

Haha!

My husband...a grown man...the one I've only seen have an excited face like three times...the eye doctor...Disneyland is magical?  What?
(Yeah, I don't know who this guy is but I was totally thinking this kind of scenario when Wes was talking about Disneyland.)

So funny and yet weird.

I'm still kind of laughing thinking about it.

Kinsley: 3 Months

I can't say I've been very good about keeping up with writing or posting about Kinsley.
In a few more days she will be 4 months old so I had better post about her at three months already.

Here is a bunch of pictures taken around the end of August and early Sept, her 3 months.

This one was actually taken in July but I couldn't resist posting this one.
I love it when they smile in their sleep.

She is getting so big. She is our tallest girl so far.  She has my dimple...I kind of love that someone got something else  from me other than my big forehead. :)  She is rather fussy and demanding.  She loves to be held.    I don't think she will be as easy going as Sadie was.  I kind of like that perhaps she has a little bit of my fiery spirit.  When I let her cry a little before feeding her because I'm busy taking care of someone else she gets really mad.  Even after I start feeding her she likes to make it very clear that she wasn't happy about that and she will stop eating sometimes just to yell at me one last time.  She already seems to enjoy little thrills.  She is however a little reserved with her laughter and smiles.  Sometimes I wonder if that just happens with the younger kids because their parents are just older and more tired and don't smile as much around them...who knows.   She has a different color eyes than any of the other kids.  Jared and Novalee have my warm brown eyes, Sadie has bright blue and Kinsley's are cool brown.  Time has gone by so fast and I wish sometimes there was just more time in the day to just hold her and admire her.   She is definitely loved by everyone in our family.

Early Mornings

So before I got married I always day dreamed about when I was married I wanted to wake up in the mornings and have my kids crawl into my bed as they woke up and then we would all snuggle.

You know the ideal image.
Sun streaming through the windows.
White downy comforter.
  Happy smiles.
 Lots of love.

Well I can't say that our comforter is white...I'm pretty sure that wouldn't last long with little kids and sticky fingers.

And no it's not sunny everyday here is Oregon.

And no we don't all have perfect hair
or breath for that matter.

But every morning without fail at least one of our kids and a lot of the times all of the kids are in our bed snuggling.

For that moment we are happy and content and that is all the matters.
For that moment life is just good.

Summer Camping Trip

Each summer my family gets together for a camping trip.  All who can make it are invited.  This year we went to Thousand Trails in Chehalis, Washington.

Wes had to work so I drove up with the kids.

Sadie is a true camper through and through.
She loves the outdoors just as much as her Dad and Mom do.

I finally used our sun/wind blocker tent thingy.
We've only had it for 4 years.
Kinsley liked it...sometimes.

The cousins had so much fun playing together.

 My parents/brothers new dogs.

Candy was kind of a big thing during the trip.
In the parents opinion, there was an overabundance of it.
But of course the kids loved it.

One of several bugs found by the kids.
I think this one might have survived...

  Moby wraps rock!
There are a lot of kids in this picture!

Man, my kids love their cousins.
At some point on the trail, Evany and Jared started holding hands.
So cute and yet creepy at the same time. :)

Elam could be the cutest redhead ever.

Target practice.  I actually like shooting the bow.
I want one.

Grandma multitasking to help me out.
She's just too great for words.

Okay.
Winnie the Pooh.
Sadie.
Two little chubby cubbys all stuff with fluff.
So cute!

Smores!

Okay so let's summarize the camping trip.  There was a lot of dogs and children.  The parents were outnumbered.  There was a lot of candy/sugar.  We went for walks. The kids said at one point they got lost (even though they had strict instructions to keep within the sight of the camper) and had to ask a park ranger how to get back.  My kids and myself went on a hayride.  We swam in a heated pool.  And when we weren't taking care of kids we tried to relax.  For the most part the kids were very well behaved and are getting to a great age where they can entertain themselves and they don't need someone hovering over them to make sure they are being safe.  Lovely.  I might also just give a special thanks to my family that helped me so much with my kids while camping.  Without their help I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have worked out.

After three days at camp (two full days) we came home on Aug 25th.
Here Kinsley is all tuckered out.
She also turned 3 months old on the 25th.

Free Hugs

I bought this onesie for Kinsley soon after we found out we were having another girl.

Sadie must have remembered me getting it because when I pulled out the shirt  from storage and put it in a pile for Kinsley to wear, she immediately pulled it from the piled and said, "Mine!"

 That's her new "smile" pose.

I thought for sure since it was a 3-6 month shirt she wouldn't fit into it and then I could explain to her that it was for the baby.

But it fit.

Sort of.

And she thought she was so cute in it!

53rd Park

Wes had a day off other than Sunday a few times this summer.

Hallelujah!

And on a few of those days the weather was nice.

Double Hallelujah!

At some point we took the kids to the park off of 53rd and Main in Hillsboro to play in the fountains.

Not too exciting to some but for us, we thought it was great!

Sadie, as usual, needed time to warm up to something different.
 Not a happy baby.

Here Wes is, being the baby's body guard OR extremely uncomfortable.
I'm not sure which. :)

She so cute and pensive.

And she's so sassy!

Jared is so good at quickly assessing which kid will be the most fun to play with
and then becoming good friends with them in order to steal their toys.

 Kinsley being a good baby.

Here Dad is making sure Noalee asked to borrow the current water toy in her possession.
She is very good at scaring any boy (despite size) out of their things thus she is holding the biggest super soaker I've ever seen.  She then enjoyed the rest of the time terrorizing and plotting against all the boys.

Don't be fooled by this face.

 She can be evil!

Here Jared is with a cup.  I'm quickly snapping this picture while at the same time repeating over and over again the caution that water WILL RUIN the camera!  :)

 Proof I was there.  :)

Thank goodness for days off!
