I'm kind of super excited about this one because I've never really been brave enough to go get all the materials to start knitting but how can you resist making these adorable stuffed animals?

Just Bragging, That's All

So today was an excellent day for me when it comes to savings! You might laugh and think these are not really that great of savings. But for me, they at least felt great! :)

First stop of the morning, Khols. I had a $10.00 off $10.00 or more.

I got these for $4.25. Oh ya baby! And if you didn't know I put holes into like 5 pairs of jeans during the months of January and February, so these were definitely a needed find. :)


I saved $26.00!

Second stop, Rite-Aid. I'm so being pulled into their points and up rewards right now, I'm probably not really saving but I like to think so. :)

I went because I had a 1 up rewards coupon to use (basically a dollar off anything in the store). I went for garbage bags because I had a coupon but the coupon wasn't for the right bags and I DID JUST BUY 4 BOXES of garbage bags last week. :) (For $2.00 each I might add). :)

But they were having a great sale on Maybelline products and I will need mascara soon.

So I got these using that 1 up rewards point.

I'm so Plain Jane, it's sad really. I should try bolder colors...someday...okay probably not. :)

These were buy one get one free and I really wanted to get to $15.00 so I could get another $5.00 rewards rebate. So I bought the eye shadow too. (Totally sucked into the sales gimmicks, I know).

I paid $15.70 for $20.36 worth of makeup. But I now also have $5.00 to use next time towards a purchase. :)

And finally I don't want to bore you with more details but let's just say I am currently holding two $5.00 gift cards to Smith's and three $1.50 off your next purchase coupons, that I got today. :)

And finally, finally. A few weeks ago, I got these at Deseret Book for $1.00 total! Still doin' the happy dance about that one!

Pie Crusts

You might not think this is that interesting or you might know this trick already but I just figured it out and so I'm rather excited about it!

So sometimes my pie crusts are awesome and sometimes they just crumble all over the place. I'm kind of lazy and really don't like making more crust so I usually desperately try and piece the crust together before I make a different crust.

The other day, my pie crust was super crumbly and after making the first (bottom) crust I really didn't want to have a super sloppy looking crust for the top.

All of a sudden it occurred to me that Crisco is like butter. So I put my crust dough, rolled into a ball, into the microwave for about 15 seconds.

And it came out so smooth! Just wanted to share. :)

Today Was A Big Day!

Sadie decided that sitting up on her own and crawling weren't cool enough for her 7 Month-day.

So for her big trick today, she decided to split into two! And now we have twins!

Now we are just stuck coming up with a name for the new one...

Of course Sadie immediately was thrilled with having a twin sister!

And couldn't stop kissing the newest addition to our family! :)


Don't worry, I haven't gone crazy, I realize that it's just a mirror. But she's just so cute! :)

While she has yet mastered control over the elements, she did learn to pull herself up to a standing position next to just about anything. (Please refer to exhibit A & B).

The tricky thing is that she has yet to figure out how to get back down to the ground after standing up. So over and over again throughout the entire day I run to her aid after she repeatedly (have I gotten through to everyone yet that it's all the time?) pulls herself up, smiles being proud of herself and then begins to fuss because her legs are tired. :)

Some days are pretty long.

Wesley even said the other night that she walked a little along the couch! Crazy!

Shirt to Skirt

I had this shirt (it was cute enough) but I never wore it because it was too dressy and it always made me feel like I worked at a clothing department store at the mall.

I tried to find a picture of me wearing it, but I guess I never, EVER wore it. :)

So I made it into a skirt for Novalee. She loves it! I think it turned out okay.


I just cut it at the top of the waist, folded it down and added elastic. Then I took the ties from it and made them into ties for the skirt. (You can't really see them but they are tied in a bow in the back of the skirt).

(Isn't she sassy?) :)

It's not super fancy. But I am looking at it as just one less thing in my "to sew" pile. :)
