Novalee's Dance Class & The Clark Planetarium

At Christmas time right before we went to Oregon, Novalee entered into a drawing contest to receive free dance classes.

While she didn't win free dance classes she was offered a free trial class and free registration for future classes.

So last Tuesday we went and she tried it out.

She was so cute with the other girls. It was neat to see her in that environment because normally she is just with her older rowdy brother and his friends. It was a total change when she was with the girls. Holding hands, whispering in the corner and giving hugs. It was so cute.

She had so much fun with the other girls, I really couldn't resist having her take the class. (That's probably why they offer the trial class, they know most moms are suckers). :)

Anyways, we went home, talked it over and then went and got her a leotard.

Luckily I had made her a tutu last summer.

I'll have to get a picture of her in her pink tights and ballet shoes later and post it. :)

On Satuday we went to the Clark Planetarium. Wes' sister Kacie came with her fiancé Sam, and Wes' brother DJ came with his girlfriend Ashley.

It was a pretty neat place. I was surprised that to get in and see the exhibits it is free.

We had fun. The kids did too. :)



Novalee is watching this pendulum represent the rotation of the earth. I think she just thought it was a neat moving thing.

Jared our mad scientist.

He recently told me that when we are rich (I wonder when he thinks that is going to happen)that he is going to take half our money and half our house and build a secret lab. :)

Jared enjoyed Mars and the Moon. We'll have to let him go there again real soon.


We'll have to go to the Planetarium again sometime too. :)

Valentine's Wreath

I wanted to have more Valentine's day decorations but I hate buying things, especially full price.

So I bought these wood pieces for .59 each and the hearts were .29 cents which I had to paint. Then I wood glued them all together, drilled two holes and strung some black wire I had. And now I have another decoration.

Not as cute as the ones you can buy at the store granted but CHEAPER. :)

Everyone Has One

It seems like here in Bountiful everyone has a cover for their infant car seat.

Which totally makes sense. It's FREEZING here! (Seriously, I just slipped on ice walking to the gym.)

Wes and I joke that it is called Bountiful because there is a bounty of snow. (We're pretty clever, huh?) ;)

Wow, totally off topic.

Anyways, for almost a full two months I was taking Sadie out into the bitter cold with only a blanket for warmth.

So I made a cover.

I love it! (Can you hear me squealing as I say that? Because I totally did when it was finished) :)

I love the fabric.

I love that it was so easy to make.

I love that is keeps our little baby warm.




It's cuteness only adds to my hope that when we have another baby, it will be another girl. :)

But I guess if we had a boy I could make another one.

Hmmm...I guess it will be a win win situation.

4 Month Check-Up

Well Sadie turned 4 months on Sunday. I wanted to wait until her doctors appointment today before I posted about it so I could share her growth.

She is 25 inches and in the 75% percentile for height.
She weighs 14.8 pounds putting her in the 73rd percentile for weight.

Did she start out on her tummy. Certainly not. She was originally on her back with her head on the pillow. But she rolled and turned while she was in the process of flapping her legs and arms on the paper so she could get it to make the crinkle sound.

She was quite pleased with herself and happy to be in a position to eat the paper.

The doctor was AWESOME. I started Sadie on Rice cereal on Monday and was nervous that I would be berated by the doctor for not waiting until 6 months. Had we been in Oregon with a "hippy" doctor I would have. But she actually said it was a great idea since Sadie spits up so much. Sweet!

So here is our littlest one, proving to be not so little anymore. While I'm proud of her growth and strength, (the doctor was so surprised at how in control she was) I still wish she would take her time growing up.

Sadie Loves Her Big Sister

My New Scarf

So I just learned how to crochet over Christmas Break, as previously mentioned.


While I was at my mom's she gave me two skeins of red yarn. I knew right away what I would do with it...




Please forgive my cheesy posing. It's the best I could do with a self timer and my six year old helping me. :)

But I just love my scarf! Maybe it's because I spent so much time on it.

That's my theory about most things. The more time you put into it, the more you love it. :)
