Naturally Drawn to Water

There is something definitely special about Arizona, or perhaps everywhere.

But I have never seen so pronounced before until I moved to Arizona, how much things are drawn to water.

Let me share some examples.

Example 1: While swimming in the pool this last Saturday. (Yes, for you Oregonians, the non-heated pools here are still warmer than the heated pools in Oregon during the summer.) :)

Anyways, while swimming in the pool Jared started yelling, "A Spider! A Spider is in the pool!"
I looked over to see not a small spider but a very large spider trying to conquer the pool filter.

The poor little fella probably thought the pool looked like a nice place to get a drink and then got overpowered by the waves we were making.

While I didn't get a shot of it in the water, I did get Wesley to capture it for picture purposes.

Say hello to the icky Wolf Spider.

Example 2:
That same night after the men in the family went to the priesthood session of conference, we had a dust storm in Casa Grande. Follow by none other than Rain.

That night the boys and Novalee went hunting for frogs. These frogs burrow themselves into the ground or other resting place and wait and wait and wait. Since it is Casa Grande where it rains very little, sometimes they wait a long time for the rain to come.

Finally when it does they come out and enjoy.

Example 3:
Monday morning about to finish up my shower, all nice and relaxed from the cleansing water, I reached for the hair conditioner, only to immediately have all the muscles in my body tense up. Why, you might ask.

Well this little guy is not normally hiding behind the conditioner.

Who can blame him for being drawn to the water.

I couldn't kill him, crickets are supposedly good luck ;) but it might have been a better fate than what he is now consigned to.

He currently is the pet of the week for one of our children.

Hey, maybe a peanut butter jar is a nice place to live...except perhaps when a particular three year old decides it would be fun to throw the jar down the hall only to have it land on the hard floor.

My Final Example: This morning Novalee and I heard a strange noise outside only upon investigation to discover...

Pretty neat. And I would have to say that both Novalee and I are drawn to water.
We both love it so much.

About three minutes later, this is what the sky looked like above our apartment.

Pretty neat.

The only person that didn't really think it was that cool was dear little Sadie who had to wait to be feed so we could enjoy the rain. Poor thing.

And on a spiritual note, I can't help but think of a few scriptures that might illustrate why things in nature, including us, are drawn to water.

John 6: 35
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 7: 37
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 4: 13-15
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into ceverlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Hmmm...I wonder...
